Out of Health & Safety for Everyone:

Art of Life GALA POSTPONED, no longer May 9th, new date: Oct. 17th, 2020

Dear Art of Life GALA Friends, Sponsors/Donors and Business Partners:

Because of the recent developments over the possible community-spread of coronavirus

(COVID-19) and the potential health risk that has been identified on an international level, Therapeutic Adventures / IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports (TA / I~AS) and our

partners affiliated with the  Second Annual Art of Life GALA have made the decision to

cancel our upcoming May 9th, event. We are taking important preemptive measures to

protect the health and safety of everyone involved.

We are pleased to report that our venue partner, the Hylton Performing Arts Center, has

worked with us to reschedule this important event.

*The Second Annual Art of Life GALA will be on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please know that while we look

forward to the Second Annual Art of Life GALA, it doesn’t compare to the importance of

protecting the health of all our friends, sponsors/donors, and business partners, which will

remain our top priority.

Please continue to check this website for developments.

2019 GALA Venue

The Art of Life GALA is all about sharing the important things in life with others and having fun while doing it! Isn't that the "art of life"? The Art Of Life GALA's mission is to financially support small charities and organizations doing good in the world by employing art and a party.

The Art of Life GALA is in the process of becoming a non-profit, but for now they are just an amazing group of volunteers helping others.

In 2019, Kelly Haneklau, local Virginia artist and Founder/Owner of Minor Miracles, decided to support Therapeutic Adventures, Inc., a Charlottesville-based non- profit organization. Haneklau stated, "The work this organization does is beyond amazing and has touched so many lives for almost 40 years. I am honored to be a small part in the awareness of the work they do and it is a pleasure to work with Mark Andrews (Founder/Executive Director), to make these dreams a reality".

The gala is an evening for adults to have fun and give back at the same time. There will be amazing art and other items available for auction, guest speakers/performers, delicious local food and drink, music, games and community spirit!" The Art of Life GALA will increase awareness about and help TA raise monies for the adaptive sports programs and outdoor adventures provided by Therapeutic Adventures, Inc." Haneklau remarked.

Sponsorships are being sought from businesses, companies, corporations, and individuals to support Therapeutic Adventures' fundraising goals. Haneklau said, "community support and involvement are the cornerstones of this event’s success".

This GALA will not only raise awareness and provide much needed support, but bring people together for a fantastically fun evening!

Ages 18 and older please.

One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the Therapeutic Adventures organization and the wonderful work they do.
